There’s an easy way to exhaust a restaurant’s caviar supply: Have a billionaire investor like Carl Icahn celebrate his birthday with real estate and investment heavy hitters.

For his 80th, Icahn had a steak dinner with Douglas Elliman chairman and Vector Group CEO Howard Lorber, Vector Group chairman Bennett LeBow, Apollo Global Management’s Leon Black and Michael Milken, and Jefferies CEO Rich Handler and vice chairman Andrew Whittaker.

The dinner at Mastro’s Steakhouse in Midtown included expensive libations, chocolate cake and one-upmanship over recent deals, sources told the New York Post, which reported Handler picked up the tab.

The group has had a steak dinner every six weeks for the past 20 years, sources told the newspaper.

In December, Icahn, an investor in insurance giant AIG, criticized CEO Peter Hancock for failing to reach profitability targets. [NYP] — Dusica Sue Malesevic
