Newmark Holdings announced The Nation, America’s oldest, leading weekly magazine and news site of progressive politics and culture, has signed a ten-year, 10,416-sq.ft-lease on the twenty-first floor of 520 Eighth Avenue, a 25-story, 755,000-square-foot office building in Manhattan. The Nation is moving from its previous location at 33 Irving Place, where they have resided since 1998.
The Nation was represented by Susan Kahaner and Jennifer Ogden of Avison Young in the transaction. The team for Newmark Holdings representing the building is comprised of co-CEO Eric Gural and Senior Manager Matthew Mandell.
“This is an exciting transaction for Newmark Holdings and we’re pleased to welcome The Nation to the property,” said Mr. Gural. “Signing a long-term lease with a renowned tenant like The Nation speaks volumes to the reputation and attractiveness of 520 Eighth Avenue. As always, we remain dedicated to providing all of our tenants with a beautiful space and attentive property management services.”
