An elderly Astor Terrace couple bid their buyers a lifetime of happiness after selling them their home. The couple, who have lived at 245 East 93rd Street for years, put their two bedroom on the market with Joan Kagan, at Keller Williams NYC, with the end of the Second Avenue Subway construction in sight.
The 6th floor, 1,355 s/f unit has two split master bedrooms, each with an en suite bath, a dining alcove, foyer, powder room, thru-wall HVAC and washer/dryer hookups.
Kagan listed it at $1,595,000 and saw multiple offers within the first week, going to contract in just two.
“The residents have suffered through the construction of the Second Avenue Subway, but these sellers were rewarded for riding out the storm,ˮ said Kagan. “The street construction should be completed by the summer, just in time for the buyers to move in after their renovation.ˮ
When Douglas Elliman brought the buyers to the closing, Kagan said her 80-year-old seller looked across the table at the young buyers and said, “I wish you as much love and happiness here as my wife and I have had.”
