The chapel condo in New Orleans and Anne Rice
A unique “religious-chic” home in a converted orphanage in New Orleans is back on the market following a price chop. The condo was once the orphanage chapel, where vampire romance writer Anne Rice may have once called it home.
The 5,000-square-foot chapel in the St. Elizabeth Condos is asking $4.4 million after a reduction from $4.95 million, according to Curbed. As mentioned, it was once the home of writer Anne Rice but was only one of many homes she owned in New Orleans and it isn’t clear that she ever lived in it.
Built in the 1860s, the unit has two-floors, three-bedrooms and five-bathrooms. But that’s not all! You can sing hymns at the top of your lungs and enjoy the echos from 24-foot ceilings and stained glass windows.
The building features a pool, gym and parking.
