The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce announced the line-up for the 2016 BKLYN DESIGNS event.

In addition to a talented pool of furnishings and accessories designers presenting new products, the event will include more than 30 sessions that explore topics of design, architecture, sustainability, technology and craft for an audience of design trade and design-loving consumers.

BKLYN DESIGNS will take place from May 6-8 at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint in conjunction with NYCxDESIGN. Panel discussions will be presented on the Resource Furniture Stage while hands-on activities will take place across the show floor and in the Maker’s Lab.

Special show floor features include: a Micro Loft created by AphroChic, AJ Madison and Resource Furniture; an active pop-up studio from the Textile Arts Center; an open discussion series at the THINK + [TABLE] by Think Fabricate; a playable cornhole gallery by American Design Club; the Coney Island Lounge by UHURU; student exhibits from Pratt; and more.

“The Chamber is very proud of BKLYN DESIGNS and the fact that it offers such a wide range of participants from the creative economy in our borough,” said Brooklyn Chamber president and CEO Carlo A. Scissura.

“Everyone involved brings a unique perspective to the conversation on design, craft, architecture and the built environment. At this year’s show, there is something for everyone — from drawing classes with Pratt professors and weaving sessions with the Textile Arts Center, to hands-on advice on getting certified Brooklyn-Made and Kickstarting a new venture. There will be so much amazing programming, you won’t want to miss a minute.”
